Ultra Tanking Slurry Powder - 25kgs - a professional grade product, with a BBA Certificate - in a tough plastic pail

Click here for more information about Tanking

For coating masonry, brick, stone, floors and walls. Simply mix with water to form a 'slurry' - a smooth, brushable thick paint, like masonry paint. Wet the surfaces first and allow to dry until just damp. Brush on one coat, with horizontal brush strokes and allow to dry. Re-damp before re-coating, if dried right out. Apply a second coat, brushing vertically. This eliminates the risk of missed patches and pinholes. Slurry can be rendered over whilst wet, or prime with another coat, or use BondaAcryl as a primer. Usage rate - 6 - 8 square metres per 25kgs, per coat, subject to surface roughness.

Also Required when Tanking - Joint Filling Mix - Fillet Seal, (for the floor to wall gap joint), Leakstop - Hydraplug, (for instant leak and weep sealing).

Usage rates - Joint Filling mix - mix with water to produce a stiff mortar, allow 1kg per 1 metre of joint approximately 25mm x 25mm (1 inch x 1 inch) at the floor to wall joint, or in cracks and voids.

Frequently purchased with this product - BondAcryl as a primer for Render Coats, Renderproof Render Additive to mix in the Render coats, Wall Membrane Kit instead of Render.

Joint Filling Mix - 25 kgs - waterproof cement based mortar - Fillet Seal

Always cut out cracks or floor to wall joints to a square shouldered slot. Do not simply lay a fillet of Jointfill over the existing crack or gap - this will fail.

For filling cracks in masonry, brick, stone, floors and walls. Simply mix with water to form a smooth, stiff mortar. Wet all the repair surfaces first and allow to dry until just damp. Apply a coat of BondAcryl by brush and immediately lay in the Jointfill with a trowel. Smooth to flush. Slurry can be rendered over whilst wet, or prime with another coat, or use BondaAcryl as a primer. Usage rate - approximately 1 metre of 25mm x 25mm (1 inch x 1 inch) slot per 1kg of Jointfill powder. So, one 25kg keg will make about 15 litres of joint filling mortar, when mixed with minimal water.

Also Required when Tanking - Leakstop - Hydraplug, (for instant leak and weep sealing).

Frequently purchased with this product - BondAcryl as a primer for Render Coats, Renderproof Render Additive to mix in the Render coats, Wall Membrane Kit instead of Render.

Cut out all cracks and joints to at least 25mm x 25mm slots

Cut our cracks to a square shouldered slot

Make good with Fillet Seal before

Tanking over with Tanking Slurry

NOTE - Floor to wall joints

These are always one of the weakest parts of construction and are frequently left unfinished.

This gap then bleeds water vapour, which can be sucked up the back of the skirting boards (which may rot) and into the wall plaster. Use our Jointfill or W60 Flexi Grout to fill the gap properly.

Leakstop Mix - 5 kgs - instant plug for water leaks and weeps - Hydraplug

Always cut out leaks to make over sized holes, at least 25mm (1 inch) in diameter. Do not attempt to fill small weeps or leaks directly - this will fail.

For filling leaking or weeping cracks in masonry, brick, stone, floors and walls. Simply mix with water to form a smooth, stiff mortar. Use the minimum water to achieve a cohesive ball of Leakstop. Wet all the repair surfaces first and allow to dry until just damp. As the product starts to warm in your hands ram it into the hole and hold until the initial set has occurred. Slice off any excess with a sharp knife, float or trowel. Usage rate - One 5kg keg will make about 3 litres of leak stopping mortar, when mixed with minimal water.

Also Required when Tanking - Joint Filling Mix - Fillet Seal, (for the floor to wall gap joint)

Frequently purchased with this product - BondAcryl as a primer for Render Coats, Renderproof Render Additive to mix in the Render coats, Wall Membrane Kit instead of Render.

BondAcryl - 2.5, 5 and 25 litre - makes tanking slurry and acts as a primer

Tanking Applications - for priming areas ready to receive Jointfill Fillet Seal (to ensure good bonding and eliminate poor or excessive suction), or to prime over Tanked surfaces ready for Render coats of sand and cement.

General Purpose - Bonds repair mortar (sand and cement) to old concrete or render, when used as a primer. Makes a sand and cement mix waterproof, when used instead of water. Allows 'screeds' to be laid much thinner than normal - down from 50mm to 12.5mm. Usage rate - see our guide in the Data Sheet - click here.

Floor and Wall Membrane - 2 metres x 20 metres - part rolls available.

Tanking Application - as a floor and wall lining, drained or ventilated (Meets BS8102 all classes)

Easy to lay as a floor membrane, over damp concrete, slabs, slates or well compacted earth. Simply roll out and join with the self amalgamating, double sided Joint Tape. Press the two sheet edges together with an overlap of 3 - 4 stud rows (about 75mm), stud side down. You can lay a concrete floor or screed directly on top, or fit a 'floating' floor of tongued and grooved chipboard. As a wall membrane the sheets are hung from the top, using the black hammer in plugs, which have a hole in the middle ready to take a number 12 self tapping screw. Each plug is fitted with a waterproof seal washer. Battens are then screwed to the plug heads. Usage rate - a roll, 2 metres wide x 20 metres long will cover about 36 square metres, allowing 10% for the overlapping joints. Allow 4 plugs per square metre. Data Sheet - click here.

Complete Kits include - Membrane, Black Plugs, Black Plug Seals, Joint Tape.

Frequently purchased with this product - 10mm Masonry Bit, Joint Tape, Black Plugs, Black Plug Seals, Corner Tape, Mastic Sealant, Sump and Pump, Aquachannel Drain, Drainage Outlet, Jetting Eye, Profile Strip (Ventilated Edging).

Concentrate to be mixed 40:1 with water in a sand and cement mix at 3:1 by volume, using dry, washed plastering or concreting sand. Usage rate - allow 1 litre of concentrate per 4 square metres of render at 25mm (1 inch) thickness.

Why Replaster?

Without a barrier coat of sand and cement (or you could use our Membrane) the damp and 'salts' left in the wall from rising damp will come through the plaster and ruin the decorations.

Professional Replastering Paint - 2.5 litre

Tanking Application - in all Basement and Cellar Applications after plastering or rendering, to allow the plaster to dry out properly.

For use after replastering, either with sand and cement backing coats or normal, lightweight Gypsum plasters. This paint is special - it breathes - allow water vapour to pass through. The walls dry out properly and the paint does not bubble or lift off, as a regular vinyl paint might. Supplied in a plastic bag within a 5 litre tub, for protection in transit. Usage rate - about 3 - 4 square metres per litre. One 2.5 litre pot should cover about 10 square metres.

Frequently purchased with this product - Ultra Proof Water Repellent, Stain and Damp Seal Paint.

Buy Replastering Paint - 2.5 litres -

Microporous Replastering Paint

Why use Replastering Paint?

Because most modern vinyl paints don't 'breathe' enough. This means that they won't let the wall dry out properly. The trapped moisture behind the paint eventually pushes it up into bubbles and flakes. You may feel crunchy 'salt' behind the paint or see fluffy, white 'salts'.

Then you will need to remove the paint and use our Salt Neutraliser.

Ultra Stain and Damp Seal Paint - a special primer - 1 litre

Tanking Applications - to seal stains and dried out damp patches found on wall plaster in Basements and Cellars. Two coats of this special primer makes the surface ready for any type of paint.

A special white universal surface primer designed to seal areas of plaster or render that have been stained by 'salts', damp or water leaks. This fast drying primer is the ideal base for emulsions and gloss paints and prevents unsightly stains from 'grinning' through paint finishes.

Usage rate - allow about 8 - 10 square metres per litre, per coat. Use two coats.

Salt Neutraliser - 1.0 and 5 litre

Tanking Applications - to treat bare walls before Tanking with slurry, to kill off the 'salts'. Also, to treat retained bare render or plaster, if considered good enough to be retained.

Kills 'salts' in walls. Can be used on bare masonry, bare render or bare plaster - will not penetrate paint. Usage rate - apply with a brush at a rate of 5 - 10 square metres per litre, depending on the roughness of the surface, twice. Damp the wall with fresh water before each coat.

Salt Neutraliser, 5 litre and 1 litre

Salt Neutraliser liquid, brush or spray

Why Neutralise?

All kinds of 'salts' emerge from brickwork, stonework, plaster and render as a result of dampness passing through the building. Some are brought up from under the ground. If they reach the surface of your plaster they ruin the decorations.

Damp Problems in the House - how to get rid of damp

Damp walls in houses are sometimes caused by Rising damp, but treating damp always requires careful analysis to avoid damp proofing walls that are suffering from penetrating dampness, condensation or residual 'salts'. We recommend damp proofing cream by hand injection of a new damp proof course (DPC).

If you ask for our free help we will ensure that you know how to treat damp walls properly to stop damp and if necessary how to use a Damp Meter. You can easily use UltraCure damproofing cream to install a damp proof course, sometimes referred to as a DPC, without any special training. In treating damp you may also need to consider some tanking, below the damp proof course, which means forming a waterproof coating to stop damp penetrating from below ground.

Other considerations- treating damp

Rising damp can be found in houses which have not been built with a damp proof course or where the damp proof course is faulty. The signs of rising damp can include a tidemark on walls just above the skirting boards, damp patches that come and go, 'salt' marks, loose paint or wallpaper and the plaster can be cold to the touch. To stop damp of this kind we need to either install a new DPC or uncover the original damp proof course level - it may have been bridged by raised garden soil, pathways or even by the local Council in surfacing the pavements.

Rising damp is not confined to external walls. You should also examine your internal and Party walls for the tell-tale signs. The problem of rising damp should be addressed as soon as possible. Lack of treatment will result in a deterioration of the masonry, plaster and any woodwork that is attached (for example, skirting boards). Another significant side-effect of damp, some authorities believe, is that the mould that it can cause is a major factor in childhood asthma. It can certainly trigger asthma attacks! Apply one of our Anti-Mould products - Anti-Mould Cleaner, Anti-Mould Paint or use our concentrated Anti-Mold Paint Additive (works in all types of paint).
